I thought Downie took part in a full practice over the weekend, no?

I believe he's been cleared to play, but it's a question of getting back into game shape.

Flyers need to find the focus and intensity they showed against Boston and St. Louis. If they do, they will beat Columbus. If they don't, well, it may not be pretty.

I look for Giroux to have a big bounce back game tonight, a rested Timonen to have a strong game and a fresh Mason to have a big game as well. My pick:
Flyers 4 - CBJ 1

GO FLYERS!!

I'll say this, if Datsyuk is coming back for the playoffs and det-pitt is the matchup. Penguins dont stand a chance in hell

Bill,

Do you think that when Laughton's season ends you might see him join the Flyers for the playoffs like Washington did with Wilson. I know it will start his ELC but i think he could serve an effective role either on the 4th line or incase Downie gets hurt could be a wing on the 3rd line. That would create a nice shutdown line ala the Devils used to employ with Pandolfo, Madden and I believe Begin

That matchup will only happen if only 3 Metro teams make the playoffs. You would need to root for the Leafs to make the playoffs in order for that to happen.

Pitt is going to have trouble with the Red Wings, even without Datsyuk and Zetterberg! MAF anyone?

This is totally erroneous...right now Detroit would play Pitt in the first round if the playoffs started today. #2 overall seed vs. #1 wild card team, regardless of division

Really? I'm confused. Pitt is locked into the #2 seed which plays the top wild card, which is looking more and more like detroit. Thats how I understand it

You understand correctly...#2 overall seed (Pitt) plays #1 wild card team (Detroit) as of today

I thought #1 in Metro plays #4 in metro

No sir. The top seeds in each division play the wild cards, and the two seeds play the three seeds.

Not to mention that if I understand it correctly, 3 teams from each division make it.

It's even worse for them. Zetterberg may return for (let's say) 4th game, depending on the schedule..

I think Neal might end up delivering a concussion to Malkin the way those games will unfold.
